Penn State Health St. Joseph to open newest outpatient location in Muhlenberg Township
Reading, Pa., August 17, 2015 Penn State Health St. Joseph will open its newest outpatient location on September 16th in Muhlenberg Township at 3407 N. 5th Street Highway at Elizabeth Avenue.
The facility will offer family medicine hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Patient appointments can be scheduled now for the September 16th opening by calling 610-208-8800.
Over the course of the ensuing year, the facility will add laboratory, x-ray and urgent care and expand hours to include weekends.
Dr. David Clymer is the medical director of the facility. He is a graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, with a degree in Chemistry and completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia. He completed his family practice residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. Family medicine physicians offer care that provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body. It is based on knowledge of the patient in the context of the family and the community, emphasizing disease prevention and health promotion.

With the opening in Muhlenberg Township, Penn State Health St. Joseph will have 16 outpatient or ambulatory care centers stretching from Elverson in Chester County throughout Berks County to Strausstown near the Schuylkill County border.
