Penn State Health St. Joseph to offer after breast cancer surgery exercise safety classes
Reading, Pa., September 11, 2015 – Penn State Health St. Joseph will offer a program called C.A.R.E. (Cancer Rehabilitative Exercise) that will help breast cancer patients with safe exercise practices following surgery.
This free 3 session program is taught by a certified exercise physiologist, who will monitor the individual participant’s needs and progress. Topics covered will include an overview of exercise, gait and balance, stretching, chair yoga, aerobic conditioning, strength training and nutrition tips.
The sessions will be held October 1, 8 and 15 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Penn State Health St. Joseph Cancer Center in the Medical Office Building on the hospital’s Bern Township campus at 2494 Bernville Road.
