Penn State Health St. Joseph Names Associate Chief Medical Officer/ Physician Advisor
Dr. Christopher Newman joins Penn State Health St. Joseph from Lehigh Valley Health Network
Reading, Pa., August 12, 2015 — Christopher D. Newman, MD has been named Associate Chief Medical Officer/ Physician Advisor for Penn State Health St. Joseph. Dr. Newman will collaborate with the medical staff and other clinical staff to advance the quality, safety and efficiency of clinical process and care outcomes
He worked most recently at Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Lehigh Valley Physician Group where he oversaw the network’s expansive hospitalist program. Prior to joining Lehigh Valley Health Network Dr. Newman was President and a Managing Partner for Lehigh Area Medical Associates, a large private internal medicine practice.
Dr. Newman earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Scranton. He completed medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC, and completed his residency at Georgetown University Medical Center. He will earn an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in the spring of 2016.
He resides with his family in Breinigsville (Lehigh County), Pa.
