Getting To Know Our Services
Stroke Center
Penn State Health St. Joseph has been reaccredited as Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and recently received American Heart Association’s Get-With-The-Guidelines GOLD PLUS Award for Stroke.  When a suspected stroke patient arrives in our Emergency Department, LionNet, a telemedicine program which provides real-time remote audio-visual access to a neurological consult with a stroke neurologist or neurosurgeon, allows stroke patients to be “seen” by stroke experts at Penn state Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Unsightly varicose and spider veins are easy to ignore when they’ve covered up during the winter, but when skirts and shorts replace winter pants they become painfully obvious.

Varicose veins are a result of venous insufficiency or poor venous circulation, explained Dr. Varuna Sundaram, a board certified vascular surgeon at Penn State Health St. Joseph.
